Margaret Emma Deckard

1916 - 2013

Deckard Margaret Emma Deckard, passed away September 30, 2013. Born October 17, 1916 to the late Ada and Lester Byerly; also preceded in death by her first husband Raymond E. (Jack) Roeder and her second husband of 48 years, George W. Deckard. Survived by daughter, Marcia (Jan) Snedecor; and son, Robert D. Roeder; two grandchildren, Robert and Michael Roeder; and one great-grandchild. When Margaret was widowed at a young age, she used her secretarial skills to ably support her family until she remarried. She was a skilled home-maker, seamstress, knitter and bridge player into her 90's. Margaret was blessed with many life-long friends and will be missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank the staff of Arbor's West for her care. Family will welcome friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 with a service beginning at 7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43204.
