Mary Yingling Malpass

MALPASS Mary Yingling Malpass, age 90, of Upper Arlington and formerly of Naples, Florida, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at First Community Village. She was born November 4, 1917 in Chillicothe, Ohio, daughter of the late Roy and Grace (Wade) Smallwood. She was preceded in death by her first husband George Yingling, second husband Harry Malpass and by three brothers and three sisters. Mary is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Jean Yingling Teteris, of Grandview Heights and Florine Yingling and Mike Podolski, of Naples, Florida; grandchildren, John (Laura) Teteris, M.D., Georgia Teteris (William) Kellen, Lori (Bob) Logan, Patrick (Stacey) Podolski and Christa Podolski; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter; former son-in-law, Nicholas Teteris, M.D.; sister, Meredith Hughes; brother, Harold Smallwood; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Mary loved to golf and was past chairman of the O.S.U. Women's Golf Association. During her marriage to Harry Malpass, Mary enjoyed life, golfing and many friends as a resident of Naples, Florida for twenty-five years. In 1999, she returned to Columbus, residing at First Community Village where she developed many friendships. She loved gardening, cooking for her family and was an avid seemstress. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where family will receive friends after 12:30 p.m. Monday until time of service.
