Meredith Berk

Berk Meredith (Brooks) Berk, 82, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, March 21, 2013 in the Mansfield General Hospital, Mansfield, Ohio. Meredith was born December 21, 1930 in Upper Tyrone Twp, a daughter of the late Ralph and Flornelle Harshman Brooks, who passed away on April 19, 1973 and March 30, 1974 respectively. She was married to Paul D. Berk, who passed away on September 26, 1973. Meredith was noted for her love of her Lord, Jesus Christ and for her sense of humor. She was an operations manager for over 47 years with Columbia Gas and a member and vocalist with the Highlands Presbyterian Church in Columbus, OH. She served as a facilitator for the Woman's Bible Study and as a deacon for the church. Meredith also was a member of the Worthington Songsters and the Worthington Republican Woman's Club along with assisting at the Friendship Village Retirement Center. Years ago, while residing in Scottdale, she held membership at Christ United Methodist Church, the Scottdale Choral Society, and the Order of Eastern Star #383 where she served as Past Matron. She also originated the Youth of Certain Sounds. Meredith will be sadly missed by her many cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Freeman and Nellie (Mulroy) Harshman and Alexander and Lucinda (Dull) Brooks; and her special cousin, Timothy Anderson (February 3, 2009). Family and friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 30 in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Henley officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery. A memorial service at the Highland Presbyterian Church will be planned at a later date. Love Lasts Forever!
