Richard Paul "Rick" Reece

1953 - 2016

Reece Richard "Rick" Paul Reece, age 62, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a sudden accident at his home on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. He was born March 7, 1953 in Columbus to the late, Richard E. and Helen (Gaiser) Reece. He was a high school graduate of Westerville High School and attended Franklin University. Rick was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where he participated weekly in Bible Study. He was a devoted and active member of Central Ohio Model Railroad Club where he would display model trains at the Ohio State Fair. Rick retired after many years of service from DCSC. He was an avid flower gardener who loved all flowers, especially roses. Rick also enjoyed boating in his free time. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle Dr. Paul J. Gaiser and dear grandparents Louise and Paul Gaiser. He is survived by loving sister, Kathy Clemmer; nephew, Kai Stone; longtime friends, Mike Dunbar and Paul Diana; along with his beloved pet dogs, Sadie and Shadow. Family will receive friends Monday from 4-6 p.m. and Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
