Karen and family,

As I read the beautiful entries left by so many of your friends, I remembered a poem I had sent to the family of a student I lost to cancer two years ago and thought it might bring peace and comfort to all of you.
"Death is a gateway we all must pass through
To reach the Fair Land where the soul's born anew,
For man's born to die and his sojourn on earth
Is a short span of years beginning with birth...
And like pilgrims we wander until death take our hand
And we start on our journey to God's Promised Land,
A place where we'll find no suffering nor tears,
Where time is not counted by days, months or years...
And in this Fair City that God has prepared
Are unending joys to be happily shared
With all of our loved ones who patiently wait
On Death's Other Side to open the Gate!"

We are going to miss our "Buckeye" buddy. We remember the first time we met and Roger said where??? in response to where we live in Michigan answer....that is when I knew he was from Ohio. Funny UofM was never that important to us as it became once we had our "football bets". Roger and Karen became our 1st and best friends in Florida. He will be missed. Love,

Dear Karen & Family, My sincerest condolences to you at this very difficult time. Stay strong. It is a hard road but we need to take one day at a time, sometimes 1 hour at a time. When you return to Florida if you want to talk I would love to get together with you, Nobody really knows how you feel until you have been there. My very best.

Dear Karen, God's blessings to you all and know that your 'Florida family' is there with you tucked in your heart, now and always. We'll all celebrate Roger's life here when you return home. Know that he will forever be in our hearts and will be missed so very much. You have our love and our support always Karen, and may this beautiful poem bring you and your family peace.
"When I have come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom ~ filled room, why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little and not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared ~ miss me but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan ~ a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know, and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds ~ miss me but let me go." Unknown Author
