Ross Caldecott

Caldecott Ross Caldecott, passed away at Kobacker House on March 10, 2017 at the age of 86 from complications of esophageal cancer. He was in the company of his children at the time of his death. He was a beloved husband, father and friend. Ross contributed extensively to his profession and community. Ross was born in Russet, Wales, he attended "The Nautical College, Pangborne" (now Pangborne College), graduating from the University of London, Ross served in the Royal Army Education Corp as a Sargent, Ross worked on numerous projects as a research engineer with Electric and Musical Industries Ltd. And OSU for 50 years. He was an active member in his community, participating on a weekly basis with the local Boy Scout troop and helping coach his children's little league baseball teams. He enjoyed gardening, reading and always learning something new. Ross was preceded in death by his parents Harry Caldecott and Ethyl Grace Caldecott, his first wife Olivine Harriet (Seward) Caldecott. Ross is survived by his loving wife, Jean C. Caldecott; his son, Neal Caldecott and daughter-in-law, Melora Svoboda; his daughter, Dr. Susan Caldecott-Johnson and son-in-law, Bill Johnson; step son, Carl Walter and step daughter-in-law Lauren Walter; step daughter, Laura Walter; grandchildren, Emily, Elisha, Eric, Evan and Ethan; step grand-children, Marielle, Joe, James and Nicholas; and step-great-granddaughter, Soleya. Ross's remains have been cremated and will be dispersed according to his wishes. A memorial service for Ross will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday April 1, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio. 43221.
