Sally Carlin Obituary
Sally Reynolds Carlin, died on October 4, 2017 following a long courageous battle against cancer. Sally was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 19, 1941, to William M. and Helen McCray Reynolds. Sally graduated from Bexley High School in 1959 and Colby Sawyer College following that. She and Philip E. Carlin were married on July 7, 1962 and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers David M. Reynolds and John H. Reynolds. She is survived by her three children, Andrew R. Carlin, Katharine Carlin Giller and William E. Carlin; their spouses, Jennifer, Patrick and Molly; seven grandchildren, Emily and Sam Carlin, Jessica, Oscar and Leah Giller, Jack and Kyle Carlin, all of whom live in Columbus, Ohio; and by her brother, William A.W. Reynolds of Cleveland. Simply put, throughout her life, Sally's interests and life were all about family. She was a loving and supportive wife, and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Bexley, a member of Twig 61, The Childhood League Assisting Board 7, and the Franklin County Garden Club. One of her favorite places of all was her lakeside home in Burt Lake, Michigan. Her final resting place will be in her garden at Burt Lake, where she can be near her beloved gold finches, and hummingbirds. Sally was loved and adored by many for her sense of humor and amazing spirit. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 13, 3 p.m. at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E Broad Street, 43205. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at Columbus Country Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sally's memory may be made to: Pelotonia to benefit cancer research at the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center, (Pelotonia.org or 351 W Nationwide Blvd, Columbus, OH 43215), or to the Bexley Community Foundation, (Bexleycommunityfoundation.org or 552 S Drexel Avenue, Bexley, OH 43209).
