It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sidney Lee Shepherd on December 3, 2017 from natural causes. He was 86 years old. He leaves behind his wife, Natalie Shepherd and daughter, Denise Lee Baldwin of Houston, TX; and son, Douglas Bryan Shepherd of Wichita, KS; along with grandchildren, Blake Baldwin, Jessica Shepherd, Tyler Baldwin and Cameron Baldwin. Supporting him during his final years, he had the loving support of step-children, Cathy and Clark Francis and John Francis. There are countless great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances who would all say that knowing him enriched their lives immeasurably and his loss will be felt for years to come. Preceding him in death are his mother Lena Alice Roser, his dear step-father George Roser, and his father Clarence Shepherd. He will be buried in Fairview, Oklahoma in the Fairview Cemetery with those that went before him. Sid served as a US Marine in the Korean War from 1949-1954. He was at The Battle of Chosin Reservoir and continued to commemorate his time with his Band of Brothers at the The Chosen Few Reunion every two years. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, Army Distinguished Unit Citation and Combat Medal, United Nations Service Ribbon, and the Presidential Unit Citation Good Conduct Medal. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 2-4 pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. It will be followed by a brief Veteran Military Service.
