Steven Hupp Obituary

Hupp Steven P. Hupp, 55, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly October 19, 2016. He is preceded in death by his father Edward Hupp and mother-in-law Charlsie McClimans. He is survived by his loving wife, Beth McClimans-Hupp; mother, Bertie Hupp; dog, Rudy; daughter, Lindsay Hupp (Paul Kolb); son, Eric Hupp; brothers, David (Sandy) Hupp, Mike (Sheri) Hupp; brother-in-law, Gene McClimans; nieces, Jennifer Hupp, Misty (Rob) Brooks; nephews, Justin (Mallorie) Hupp, Corey (Sami) Hupp, James McClimans; great nieces, Scarlet and Aubrey Brooks; great nephew, Tatum; and close family friend, Joy. Being a dedicated Columbia Gas employee for 37 years, he will be greatly missed by his work family. Steve was an avid OSU fan, loved Harleys, and his favorite vacation spots, Myrtle Beach and OBX. Steve had a contagious laugh, was the life of the party, always told stories, sunshine on a cloudy day, compassionate, one of a kind, fun loving man who cared for and loved everyone. He left us too early, but the impact he made will live on in every life he touched. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choosing. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME WITH CREMATORY, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026, where a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday with visitation 1 hour prior to the time of service. www.tiddfuneralservice.com

Steve was just as it reads in his 'obit', fun loving and full of life. As a Columbia retiree, I was fortunate to get to know Steve while I was there. He was one of the greatest guys I ever met. He will surely be missed by all of those, whose lives he touched.

Steve, I will spend the rest of my days trying to fill the emptiness your loss has left in Lindsay's broken heart and life. I will give it my all, but it will be impossible. I can only hope I can measure up to the rock that you were for her, but I know that is too tall an order anybody but you could ever fill; for I am only an apprentice and you were and will always be the master. You have created and raised an amazing daughter, a woman that I love with all my heart, body, and soul. You gave me your blessing to take her hand back on July 3, 2013, but her other hand will never let go of you. I am truly humbled by the father you were to her and Eric. I love you man.

Steve - we laughed when your Mom told us how you got her up at 7 a.m. and when she left the bedroom you made her bed so she wouldn't go back to bed. Also about the refrigerator and pantry not meeting your expectation. You were unique and full of life. You will be greatly missed by us all. Love, Aunt Pat and Uncle Lynn

Dad,
I do not know even know where to begin. You had the most gentle soul of any human being I have ever come into contact with. You had such an infectious positive way about yourself that cannot be described with words. You permeated into everybody's life. Everybody knew Eric's Dad. I am still going to talk to you every day and I hope you will listen. I am so lost without you. I wouldn't be anything without you. You were the best. Even if somebody was on a different wavelength or in a bad mood you knew how to calm them down and make them smile and remember that tomorrow is another day. I'm really going to need your help to compartmentalize this. You hear me? With whatever peril I may be in I will always think what would my dad do? I know you will guide me in my decision making process. You had the most majestic personality ever. Anybody that ever knew you had nothing but fond memories of you. I know that the days and weeks ahead are going to be tremendously exasperating but, I know you will guide me through. I promise to ceaselessly try to better myself. I will not let you down. You were the best man I have ever known. Nobody on the planet loved me as much as you did and I loved you more than anybody on this earth. I know now that heaven is having a ball with all the wood chucks. Just looking in your garage and the basement and just the almost symbiotic relationship you had with your tools and your Harley stuff and not to mention the buckeyes. You better give me an O-H-I-O from time to time! I never in a million years that it was your time to get on down that road but God had other plans. I just don't know man. Take care of yourself buddy. Dad I loved you so much. I am so sorry and so forever grateful for all of the things you taught me and all of the love you had for me. let me know how it is up there from time to time. I'll see you later. I will be up there with you someday. I love you Dad.

So sad to read this. We were kids on E.N. Broadway together. I think I remember calling him Stevie. The three boys matched to ours with one year difference, and I remember his brothers and Bertie and Ed like it was yesterday. My family's prayers and deepest sympathies are with yours.
