Thomas F. "Tom" Parrill Sr.

Parrill, Sr A funeral service celebrating the life of Thomas "Tom" F. Parrill, Sr., age 80, of Utica, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, at The Newark Chapel of HENDERSON-VAN ATTA-STICKLE FUNERAL CREMATION SERVICE with Pastor Ray Sunkel officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens where the Licking County Burial Alliance will conduct military services at graveside. Tom passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Mount Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio. He was born May 26, 1935 in Newark, Ohio to the late Lonnie C. and Eleanor M. (Rowe) Parrill. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He worked for Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. for 30 years before retiring in 1997 and was a lifetime member of Local Union #18 (International Union of Operating Engineers). He loved to fish and enjoyed working with horses, playing cards and was an avid outdoorsman. He was also a member of the Y.M.C.A where he loved to swim. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty M. Parrill; children, Thomas F. (Rena) Parrill, Jr., Brenda L. (Patrick) Claprood, Kimberly S. Kendall, David A. (Jo Ann) Lamp, Kathryn A. (Steve) Roberts and Jerry A. (Penny) Lamp; a sister, Virginia (Tim) Dodrill; a brother, John (Linda) Parrill; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Eleanor Parrill; and his constant companion, beloved dog, "Max".
