I had the great honor of working with one of the finest educators at Walnut Ridge. Bill was just around the corner and was always willing to go out of his way to make my day go well as well as take the time to involve my students in the workings of his classroom. God is getting a heck of a teacher. Bill your one of the best in the world of education.

Mr Whitted was my 9th grade homeroom teacher at Ridge. He was always professional, funny, & thoughtful. As a freshman, he helped me adjust to highschool life and gave me the guidance and encouragement needed for me to succeed. He is going to be missed by me, Daniel, Q, and others who were fortunate enough to have him as a teacher.

Bill always had the latest gadget to share with his fellow teachers at Walnut Ridge HS. Like me, he was always taking pictures and we always were taking photos at proms and graduations. He had the latest digital camera at one of the Retired Faculty Luncheons last fall. His humor and brave attempts to speak Spanish in the teacher's lounge with me always made me smile.I know he's making angels laugh. He will be missed by many.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Butch's passing. We lived in the same neighborhood and went to the same schools ... I looked so forward to seeing him at our 50th High School class reunion in September. May God bless the family during this time of bereavement and know that we the class of 64' holds him dear in our hearts. I deeply sorrow in adding his name and picture to the deceased classmates. Bless you family and God bless you.

Mr. Whitted was one of the teachers that motivated the students to do more, be more, dream more. While I didn't go into the electronics, he definitely made a positive influence. My deepest condolences to his family.

Member of the Class of 83. Mr. Whittled made for great memories and experiences. Although I never pursued a career in electronics I don't think I will ever forget his nemonic for the resistor color code. Heaven is a brighter place and we were better students thanks to this gifted spirit.

I had Mr Whitted as a teacher for electronics & programming about 20 years ago, he was an awesome and delightful person. He is one reason why I am in the electronics field today. May he rest in peace knowing that he spread his knowledge to others, but you'd better have a hall pass if he catches you roaming the hallways :)

I am deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Whitted's passing. I was a student of his almost 20 years ago at WR. He was and incredible teacher that saw the best in his students. I was grateful for his nomination for a summer at DeVry my junior year. I will never forget the impact he made on my life and our funny conversations about his pants being tailored. I pray that the lifetime of memories his family shared with him adds comfort and peace during this difficult time. He was loved by many... Rest in peace.

Mr. Whitted was always a welcome sight in the hallways at WR, sharing smiles and a true interest in every student. While I did not have him for classes directly, my good friends did and couldn't say enough about how much they loved him as a teacher. He certainly made our years (91-95) at WR brighter. God bless you to his friends and family, and may he rip.

I am so sorry for your loss. A prior student as well and I never had Mr Whitted but I remember him as being a jokester. He was always to the point (never beat around the bush and yet he messed around to have a good time). Such a great soul, down to earth and honest. Really enjoyed seeing his smile in the halls at WR. Such an impact to so many lives.

I, too, am a previous student. Mr. Whitted was one of my favorite teachers. One of the things I remember about him was that if you were late to his class you had to do jumping jacks/push ups unless you just happened to have an Almond Joy with you, then all was forgiven. R.I.P. Mr. Whitted, you were truly an original.
