DAVID CUMMINS Obituary

David Tindel Cummins, M.D. David Tindel Cummins, M.D., a native of Ashford, Alabama, and a resident of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on April 26, 2012. David graduated from Ashford Academy and Samford University, and received his M.D. From the University of Alabama (Birmingham). Following in the footsteps of his father, the late Dr. Manley L. Thereafter, David became a pioneer in the emerging practice of acute pain management, establishing several clinics through the Southeast before settling in Ormond Beach. He had a profound impact on the thousands of patients he served and remained dedicated to his patients and practice until his death. David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the beach. He was the University of Alabama's biggest fan in Florida. Above all things, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, and loved his family greatly. He is survived by his wife, Debra Holt Cummins, his daughters, April Pruitt, Jennifer Rains, and Amber Gum, and his grandchildren, Maxwell, Matthew, Molly, and Madelyn. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Tindel Cummins, his brother, Manley L. Cummins, III, and his nephew, Manley L. Cummins, IV, all of Spanish Fort. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and patients. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 4110 S. Dear Mrs. Cummins, I truly know what you are going through. As of 1 year ago my son 31, died suddenly, as you are experiencing now. Dr. Cummins was my doctor for close to 10 years and always helped me to be able to continue walking and existing with as little pain as possible. His sense of humor and caring helped me through alot. When my son passed he took time to talk to me and give me wonderful caring words that helped so much. I just learned on May 10 that he was gone. I am just sick and broken hearted. Please know we are praying for you and your family. Stay close to the Lord and he will help you get through this terrible time in your life.

To The Family of Dr. Cummings:
I have been a patient at the pain management for 6 years.
When I went to him I could not walk from the car to the door, after 4 surgeries, I ride a bicycle, walk every day, and enjoy life to the fullest. I always called him "CHARLIE BROWN"...he is my favorite doctor...I wrote him and his staff a letter of Thanks for a job well done. Last year he replaced my A.N.S. device with a new one.
He helped my husband with his back and there was no other doctor like him.
We are so sorry to hear about him passing. Thank you Dr. Cummings for your knowledge and skills for helping me get my life back together. I wish there could had been something that I could had helped you with.
I will miss you "Charlie Brown"...
