Dr. DAVID TINDEL CUMMINS

David Tindel Cummins, M.D. David Tindel Cummins, M.D., a native of Ashford, Alabama, and a resident of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on April 26, 2012. David graduated from Ashford Academy and Samford University, and received his M.D. From the University of Alabama (Birmingham). Following in the footsteps of his father, the late Dr. Manley L. Cummins, Jr., David completed his residency in Anesthesiology and began his practice at the Medical Center within the department established by his father. Thereafter, David became a pioneer in the emerging practice of acute pain management, establishing several clinics through the Southeast before settling in Ormond Beach. He had a profound impact on the thousands of patients he served and remained dedicated to his patients and practice until his death. David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the beach. He was the University of Alabama's biggest fan in Florida. Above all things, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, and loved his family greatly. He is survived by his wife, Debra Holt Cummins, his daughters, April Pruitt, Jennifer Rains, and Amber Gum, and his grandchildren, Maxwell, Matthew, Molly, and Madelyn. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Tindel Cummins, his brother, Manley L. Cummins, III, and his nephew, Manley L. Cummins, IV, all of Spanish Fort. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and patients. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 4110 S.
