Sigrid Langenhorst Obituary
Sigrid Anna Marie Langenhorst, age 82, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Friday Morning May 30, 2014 at the Juliette Manor of Berlin, WI.
She was born on May 7, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI-the daughter of Alfred Carl & Margaret (Silex) Stadthaus.
Sigrid married Vernon P. Langenhorst on July 1, 1950 in Mayville, WI. Sigrid worked as a homemaker & mother to Gregory V. Langenhorst & Heidi M. (Langenhorst) Schramer. She also worked as an interior designer for Goodrich Home Furnishings and as a home health care provider.
Sigrid was a very active member of Grace English Lutheran Church of Berlin involved in women's groups, teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. She was always involved in her community and willing and able to lend a hand wherever needed.
Sigrid is survived by her son Greg (Julie) Langenhorst of Itasca, IL, daughter Heidi (Vic) Schramer of Berlin, grandson Nicholas (and girlfriend Chrissy) Schramer of Waukesha, one brother Ace (Jennette) Stadthaus of LaCrosse, WI, step-grandchildren Brian (Beth Miller) Schramer/Ryan & Brianne of Waukau, Bruce (Malissa) Schramer/Kyra of Peyton, CO, and Becky Schramer of Wild Rose, two brother-in-laws Conrad (Ruth) Langenhorst and Larry (Laura) Langenhorst both of Berlin, three sister-in-laws Charlotte (Steve) Stortz of Mayville, WI, Marge (George) Wheeler of Albuquerque, NM, and Mary Ann Leader also other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon and her sister Doris Miller.
Visitation for Sigrid Langenhorst will be Thursday June 5, 2014 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Downtown Berlin.
The memorial service will be held Friday June 6, 2014 at Grace English Lutheran Church at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Inurnment will follow the service in the Oakwood Cemetery of Berlin. We will then return to the church where a luncheon will be served.
The family would like to thank the staff at Patriot Place where Sigrid had been a resident for two years. She was very comfortable there and was very well taken care of.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Alzheimer Foundation in Sigrid's memory.

I know that my brother married Gig because she was the love of his life but, as a youngster, I kind of always thought he was thinking of me too at the time. I thought the planets revolved around this wonderful ray of sunshine. So many laughs, so many good conversations, so warm just being in her presence. I miss both Gig and Vern so much. Love always.

Of course, seeing Gig's picture brings a tear. Then, immediately, I remember what a silly, wonderful, funny woman my sister-in-law was. OMG how many memories and laughs. How she loved people and animals. How immaculate their yard was at all times. I wonder how many Weedeaters she wore out. Always room at her table, always a good word, always a sweet hug when required. I really love her. She was very, very special. Rest in peace, sweet one.

Incredible, just woke up yesterday thinking about my very special sister-in-law . . . capri pants in constant motion, hysterical laughter, hard work, CLEAN house, smart as a whip and such kindness. I miss Gig and Vern something fierce. Always will.
