My heartfelt sympathy to the Sementelli family. I considered Mike my next door mate as part of an idyllic childhood in Palmyra. Whether we were playing sports, or inventing some other form of entertainment like a spook house or roadside toy stand, Mike was always a creative force. I'm even more saddened as I had planned to try and visit him this fall, but had to be away for my own brother's illness and passing. RIP to another gone too soon.

My deepest sympathies go out to you Jim and your family!!! I know it has been a long road full of emotions, struggle and heartache. Mike is now in a better place away from the pain and suffering where he has nothing but wonderful memories of his family always being with him, I know he is now watching over you and will be letting you know he is in a better place. God Bless you and your family!!!

We'll always remember Mike on his visits to Chicago...going to every sporting event that he and Jim could finagle tickets. He was always laughing and I enjoyed his many funny stories. He will be missed by many. I'm sure his family will always hear him cheering for his favorite sports team.

My heart and prayers go out to Mike's family. I will always remember (when I would visit NY) my dad saying, did you hear about Mike, and switch the TV or radio to hear what it is was Mike was announcing that night. I really enjoyed listening and saying I know him and he is truly a good soul.

Mike was a special guy, great thoroughbred horse lover and very appreciative of those who contributed to the sport. He was always so pleasant to us at Rite Aid. We will forever miss him. May his family know he is resting in peace and that eventually all of us will be joining him!

We are both so sorry that you have lost Mike. He was like another one of our kids, when we lived in Palmyra. We remember, with great fondness, some of the many times he spent at our house. My favorite memory of Mike is when John was home, after a back operation and he used to play Risk with the kids, Mike came over one day and asked, "Can Mr. Briggs come out to play?" Our sympathy and prayers are with the whole family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sementilli's...I first met Mike during the Dom Vitticore Football era, when he first televised local sporting events. He did a great deal for the area kids and the communities in the Finger Lakes Region. He will be missed. May God grant him eternal peace.

He will be missed on the beach of Maine....He was full of life. Always came over to my family to say hello, or to talk sports with my dad, Len.

So sorry to hear about Mike. He was an awesome person who I loved to joke with at The Office Restaurant when he came in. We would just bust each other about high school sports and scores. Truly a remarkable person. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Sementilli family.

My memories of Mike (and I remember him well) are as a young man, a young man with a vision and endless passion for his chosen career path. A fun guy, generous and gregarious. Very early in Mike's career he asked me to do "color commentary" with him at a few basketball games. I learned quickly I did not share Mike's talent for broadcasting but it was a lot of fun learning that lesson. I do and shall remember Mike fondly. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Mike was one of a kind guy with a huge heart. It was always inspiring for me to see a man who cared so much for his family in such an open and honest way.
Mike was always a blast to be around, whether it was at the race track, on the golf course, at the beach, or just sitting around the house. He could speak intelligently and entertainingly about any topic. He had that rare knack of always being able to make you smile.
He will be very much missed.

Dear Sue, Lou, Jim, Gerry, Debbie, Craig, Meghan, Matt, and Natalia, and Kids
He was as big in heart as he was in physical appearance. He made us laugh, and now he has made all of us cry. We loved his stories and his ability to begin a fun-filled game of kind of a "beach roasting" of each of us, wherein we all laughed at our own foibles and idiosyncrasies.
I have always considered myself an officianado of college basketball, but be assured he widened my awareness of college basketball, especially of Syracuse and Big-East basketball.
We already miss his wonderful laugh; I recall how he made me laugh so very hard at two important 50th birthdays that we were privileged to attend: Debbie's 50th and then Jim's 50th.
A man of genuine compassion, and truly a gentle giant. I find myself right now, as I write, crying and feeling very low.
I am so sorry that I am not with you to lend support at this terrible time.
My prayers are with you; I am sure that he is now in a better place.
Much Love,
Rich Sternberg
