COLLEEN SAMOLCZYK Obituary

COLLEEN "CORKY" SAMOLCZYK, 59, of Wakarusa, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at her home after battling several separate cancers for 21 years. Born July 4, 1953, in Cromwell, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Barbara (Calbeck) Moore. She married Michael Samolczyk on June 12, 1976, in Cromwell; he survives. She was a 1971 graduate of West Noble High School; a 1976 graduate of Indiana University; and she earned her LPN degree at Ivy Tech. She worked many years in medical records at Elkhart General Hospital. She had also worked as an LPN at various locations around Elkhart County. She was a longtime and very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Goshen. Her devotion to the church brought her much reward and satisfaction. In her later years, she took great enjoyment in caring for her lovely flower gardens. Also surviving are a son, David (Julia) Samolczyk of Chicago, Ill.; and a brother, Greg (Christine) Moore of Niles, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Terry Moore. Memorial service is 10 a.m. Friday, Aug., 24, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 202 South Greene Road, Goshen, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. Pastor John Hickey officiating. Burial will follow service in Sparta Cemetery, Kimmel. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
