This is a tough one. I knew Wayne passed a couple years ago and couldn't bring myself to leave a comment. Wayne played a significant role in my life... He was my "Big Brother". He got me involved with sports and was an amazing friend and mentor. I will forever be grateful for the time we spent with each other... going to Komet hockey games, Indiana Tech Basketball games, winning the BBBS egg toss competitions (back to back) or heading to Jeff's Coney to talk through anything I had going on in life. We did so much together... I even used to help him sell food at the Sertoma booth during the 3-Rivers Festival. Neither one of us cared what we did and just liked hanging out. He was also very kind to my brothers and my mom. Lots and Lots of great memories of him and again, I am truly grateful for the time we spent together and blessed because of the impact he had on my life. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I am incredibly sad to learn of Wayne's death. He was my Senior Prom date, my friend, and my campaign manager for a school election we lost! He was always a special person with whom to reconnect at high school reunions. I have admired his quiet dignity, his gentle humor, his thoughtful intellect and his athleticism. Wayne is greatly missed and my heart goes out to all who loved him.
