AMELIA SCOTT Obituary

SCOTT, AMELIA
'MILLIE' MATZURA
Born June 12, 1916 in Bronx, New York, died at Brookdale SW Assisted Living facility on June 23, 2016. She died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes. Millie recently celebrated her 100 birthday with family and friends.
Millie graduated from Paterson General Hospital three year diploma nursing school in Paterson, New Jersey, in 1937 as an RN. She worked most of her life as a visiting nurse. She had a loving marriage to Joseph Pope Scott and raised two children, David and Christine. The family moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1953. Unfortunately, she has been a widow since 49 years of age.
Millie moved to Gainesville 30 years ago to be near her son's family. She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Her ashes will be interred there in the Memorial Garden.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Christine Schlicht (Paul Schlicht) of Belfair, Washington and her daughter-in-law, Barbra Scott (late husband David Scott) of Gainesville, Florida. She has three grandchildren, John Mack Schlicht, Michael David Scott (Kristine Scott) and Joseph James Scott (Gretchen Scott). There are also seven great grandchildren, Miles Alexander Scott, Jessica Amelia Scott, Connor David Scott, Dillon Patrick Scott and three step great grandsons, Theodore Howard, Joshua Howard and William Howard, currently serving in the US Army.
A Memorial Service will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 4th at 2pm. Please make donations in lieu of flowers to Westminster Presbyterian Church of 1521 NW 34th Street, Gainesville, FL 32605.
