ANDREAS DINOPOULOS Obituary

DINOPOULOS, ANDREAS EVAN, 22
Andreas Evan Dinopoulos was born in Gainesville, Florida on February 3, 1994 to Dr. Cynthia Preston and Elias Dinopoulos, Ph.D. His life ended much too soon as the result of a tragic motorcycle accident on March 24, 2016. Andreas attended Millhopper Montessori School, Oak Hall School, the University of Florida and Santa Fe College. Most recently he was the Director of Marketing at Rabell Realty Group while continuing his education in Information Technology at Santa Fe College.
Andreas lived life fully. His energy, curiosity, intelligence and decisiveness made every day one of adventure, possibility and joy. In 2014 he pursued new challenges and opportunities by moving to New York City where he worked in finance and investment jobs on Wall Street.
Andreas was a gifted musician who enjoyed all genres from classical to heavy metal. He was four years old when he took his first Suzuki piano lesson. He became an award winning musician performing in yearly recitals under the guidance of his teacher, Mrs. Nancy Hochstetler and achieving the rating of Superior for five consecutive years in the National Federation music festival. As a young adult he taught himself classical guitar.
He began gymnastics at age 2 and later competed on the boys' gymnastics team at Sun Country Gymnastics. He was also an avid soccer and basketball player and loved to lift weights regularly at Gainesville Health and Fitness.
With his contagious smile, expressiveness, athletic presence, intense gaze and kind, affectionate heart, Andreas left footprints on many lives. He was a very giving, loving young man, always eager to lend a hand and help others. An animal lover, he was a great pal to Stormy, his faithful collie. His spirituality was evidenced by the rosary he was wearing around his neck and the bible tucked into his backpack.
Andreas is survived by his mother, Dr. Cynthia Preston; his father, Elias Dinopoulos; his maternal grandmother, Marilyn Przybocki of Gordonsville, Virginia; his uncle, Ted Przybocki, Jr. (Jill) of Michigan; his aunt, Mary Cox (David) of Virginia; his uncle, Peter Przybocki of Michigan and his uncle,Tom Przybocki of Virginia and numerous cousins both in the United States and in Greece. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Caitlin Pieretti of Pearl River, New York. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ted M. Przybocki of Gordonsville, Virginia; and his paternal grandfather, Triannos Dinopoulos and paternal grandmother, Petroula Dinopoulos, both of Florina, Greece.
One of his favorite musicians was Eric Clapton, whose well-known lyrics Andreas is now confirming: 'Beyond the door, there's peace I'm sure, and I know there'll be no more tears in heaven.'
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 30th at Williams Thomas Funeral Home, 404 N. Main St. in Gainesville, Florida at 3:30 pm. His burial and Life Celebration will follow at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery, 7204 SE County Road 234, Gainesville, Florida. Memorial donations can be made to Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery on behalf of Andreas.
Attendees at the burial may bring fresh cut flowers to lie on the grave. Please visit his memorial page at www.williamsthomasfuneralhome.com.

I will never forget such a wonderful student. His brief life touched us all. I would love to have seen his progression in IT Security. Tis true only the good do die young in this instance.

Andreas, my great nephew, is prayed for every day. Much too young to die. God had some definite plan for Andreas and evidently he fulfilled his purpose on earth. I remember him as a child who visited me in 2004 for my 50th anniversary as a Felician Sister. We went to the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh the day after. How he enjoyed himself! Trying out each exhibit and running to the next lest he miss anything. So full of life. May he be enjoying his place now in the arms of God.

My heartfelt sympathies to the family during this difficult time. The sting of death brings grief that is difficult to bear, especially when it is unexpected. May you find comfort in the promise at 1 Thessalonians 4:14. Knowing there is a hope for the ones we have lost in death is so reassuring.

I am terribly sorry for the tragic loss of your son. He was a very bright and vivacious student. I enjoyed reading his assignment submissions in CTS 1120 Introduction to Information Security. I remember when he started Fall term 2015...it was quite rocky because he missed classes, but then he came to meet with me and explained the loss of his fiancée' and how he was trying to cope and wanted to do well. Reading about him confirms my belief that he was competitive and would excel at whatever he put his mind to. He will surely be missed.

Kindest regards,
Dr. Mari Jayne M. Frederick

Dear Cindy,
I am with you in spirit and in prayer through these trying days. Know that you are not alone even after all have participated in the services and are gone. You have one heart united with yours as she lost her only Son tragically and knows exactly how you are feeling. Stay close to our Blessed Mother especially when you are most down and filled with grief. Imagine Mary upholding you all the time. You will be strong! Your loving Aunt, SM Justice.

Dear Dr. Preston & Family, I was so sorry to hear about the tragic accident in front of Shands, last week. Today, when I read about your son, I was in total disbelief. I cannot imagine the heartbreak and pain you are all feeling. Andreas must have been a gift from heaven for the time he blessed your lives. No words can express the sympathy being extended to you. Rest in the comfort of knowing your precious child is resting in the arms of God with his darling Caitlin. Deepest condolences from your patient,

Joanna Hammond

Dr. Preston and Dr. Dinopoulos, I am so sorry for your loss. Andreas was in several of my classes and he was one of my very favorite students. His contagious smile, quick humor, and a zeal for knowledge made him stand out far above the rest. I greatly enjoyed my many chats with Andreas and looked forward to seeing him in class each week. He was a friend to many and he will be greatly missed. He had such a zest for life. You couldn't help but get caught up in his next adventure! Thank you for bringing up such a wonderful man and sharing him with us. He was a pleasure to know. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you both.

My family will never forget the time Andreas jumped into the roadway with a car coming, without regards for his own safety, to save my 3 year old son who had wandered into the street. That was just the kind of guy he was.
