ELIZABETH WILSON Obituary

WILSON, ELIZABETH

Elizabeth Wilson, 75, of Gainesville, Florida passed away May 20, 2011 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born in Factoryville, PA and moved to Gainesville 6 years ago from Waterbury, CT.

She is preceded in death by her husband George E Wilson. She is survived by her three children, George E Wilson Jr. (Yadira Chavala) of Gainesville, Elizabeth Wilson of Austin Texas, and Christopher Wilson (Michele Wilson) of Citrus Springs, FL, and grandchildren, Isabel Wilson and Daniel Ferrone.

She lived in Newtown, CT for many years where she raised a family, attended Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT, (graduating in 1974), and began a lifelong writing career as a newspaper reporter, editor and freelance writer, including many years as reporter and editor at the Newtown Bee in Newtown CT. After retiring, her focus turned to art. She was a prolific painter in watercolor, pastel and other media.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on May 28 at Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd St, Gainesville FL with Father Emmanuel Pazhayapurackal officiating. She will be buried at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL
