JONATHAN ADAMS Obituary

ADAMS, JONATHAN

November 25, 1988 -

May 9, 2014

John was born and raised in Panama City, Florida until he was blessed with a second chance at life by receiving a double lung transplant at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. An avid sports fan he loved the Gators, the Cowboys and his childhood team the Drummond Park Yellow Jackets! He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, coupled with his optimism you quickly understood why it was so easy for him to endure so much just to breathe. He got his love for books from his Grandma Bradley and you rarely seen him without a book in hand. He loved a good debate, trivia, old movies and the Simpsons. He will be most remembered for his courage to face each day knowing the struggle that lie ahead of him just to be with his family. John is survived by his parents John Adams and Sherryl Watts and step-parents Karen Adams and Brit Watts. The love of his life, little sister, Madison Watts along with sisters Mari Bozcar, Amy Leitner, brother Keith Leitner and his Uncle Ed and cousin Eddie Rodak. John passed peacefully into his eternal life in the arms of his parents where he will forever "Breathe Strong." John's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Pulmonary Lab at Shands whose compassion and expertise never faltered. To Rebecca Brown, John's favorite hippie, thanks for helping John find his "Zen."

In lieu of flowers John requested donations are made to Streetlight at Shands Hospital, Streetlight.ufhealth.org, or

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of Jonathan. May you find comfort in the words found at Psalm 36:9.With you is the source of life. The one who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. So we can be sure to find comfort here in God's words.

It breaks my heart to know you have moved on to a better place. I still remember that smart smile on your face as you and Chris would alway be up to something. And I remember the happiness you always showed playing football at Drummond Park. The world is a boring and empty place without you in it. You will definitely be greatly missed. All my love Thackers mom, Miss Candy

Jonathan, you will always remain a source of strength to me. You were the bravest person I ever met and it was an honor to have you as a son. I will miss you greatly, our debates, our sports connections. I hope you have found peace and are now breathing strongly in a better place. Love, your Father
