James A. Anderson, 93, of Windsor Locks and formerly of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Lucile (Tucker) Anderson, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Walter and Frances (Decker) Anderson, he was raised in Belmont, MA where he graduated Belmont High School and earned his BA from Bates College. Jim served proudly as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. His long professional career was in specialized equipment leasing. Jim was a Past Master of Beaver Lodge AF & AM, Belmont, MA and was a Dad Advisor for the Belmont Chapter Order of DeMolay. He also had been a Little League coach in Belmont. Jim and Lucile moved their family to Windsor in 1968 where they became active in the Poquonock Community Church. Jim served as Chair of the Diaconate and the Church Executive Council as well as a member of two building committees and the pastoral search committee. He enjoyed participating in the Windsor Men's Golf League and in retirement spent several years as a Professional Assistant for the Carmon Funeral Homes. Jim leaves his son James A. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Donna; three daughters Karen A. D'Esopo and her husband Barry, Kathi A. Wicks and her husband David , and Kristen A. Lefebvre and her husband Kenneth; seven grandchildren Elizabeth Bauch and husband Christopher, Hillary Mowbray and husband Bradley, Lindsay Holland and husband Adam, Rachel Anderson and fiance' Blake Barnes, James "Trey" Anderson, III and wife Megan, and Emily Lefebvre and partner Brocton Rand, Carrie Wicks and her partner Duane Cronkite; and seven great-grandchildren Cooper and Tucker Mowbray, Joseph and Jennifer Bauch, James IV "Drew" and Mackenzie Anderson, and James Holland, and two great-grandsons on the way. Besides his wife Lucile he was predeceased by his brother Walter T. Anderson, Jr. The family wants to thank the Masonicare Hospice team: Beth Armstrong, Karen Ederle, and the late Kathy Ostrowski for their kind, thoughtful, and loving care of our parents. Jim died as he lived, with dignity, and he will be sorely missed, Semper Fi, Dad. Burial will be private with USMC Honors in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. His family will receive friends Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 1:30 PM at the Poquonock Community Church, 1817 Poquonock Avenue, Poquonock Section of Windsor.
