Barbara (Davis) Clark, 97 of Bloomfield passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at Seabury-Waterman surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Edward R. Clark. She was the daughter of the late Cecil A. Davis Sr. and Ella (Johnson) Davis of Hartford, CT.

Barbara started her career as a social worker at McCook Hospital in Hartford, social worker for Hartford Public Schools and continued her career as a social worker at University of Connecticut Health Center/John Dempsey Hospital from 1969 until her retirement.

Barbara was a devoted servant of the Lord, Barbara was a member of Union Baptist Church in Hartford, CT for over 75 years. She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Hartford Jazz Society. Barbara volunteered at Union Baptist Church's Children Learning Enrichment Program (CLEP). Barbara also worked as a representative for the Larrabee Fund Association of Greater Hartford. In her spare time Barbara loved to play Bridge and have Bridge games at her home with her friends at least once a month. Barbara loved to travel with her husband and friends, especially to any jazz festival, usually Newport and Canada. Barbara loved flowers and made sure that her home always had beautiful flowers everywhere inside and out. The countless gatherings with family and friends in her home, she was such a great host. Barbara will always be remembered for her warm smile that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all.

Barbara leaves her family, Joy Johnson, Debra Davis, Cecil A. Davis, III, (Noriko), Margaret "Suzy" Washington, Leslie Smith-Ali, Phillip Johnson, Jr, Christopher Johnson, Dana Johnson, Nicole Cruz, Eli Vazquez, Alyce Davis, Michelle Yanke, Nia Santos, Alyssa Johnson, Morgan Johnson, James Davis, Elaysjah Vazquez, Micah Johnson, Marcus Johnson, Clarence "Howie" Johnson, Lori Robinson, Marjorie "Terry" Johnson, Brian Johnson, Raymond Oliver, Beasha Bartlette, Brycen Oliver and many other church family and friends.

She was predeceased by her brother Cecil A. Davis, Jr. and niece Alyce L. Davis, Cousin Margaret Oliver. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Seabury staff and Hartford Healthcare Hospice staff for their kind care and services.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, calling hours will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am and the Celebration of Life at 11:00 am – The Lodge at 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor, Connecticut.
