Moody Funeral Service & Crematory - StuartMr. John Franklin Clark, age 89, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away at Stanleytown Health & Rehab on March 29, 2026. He was born on August 17, 1936, to the late Harry Thomas Clark and Sallie Elizabeth Ayers Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert G. “Bobby” Clark, Louise Clark Robertson, Edwin Clark, and Harry Clark, Jr. John was a faithful member of New Hope Community Church. He enjoyed farming his cattle, was a member of the Lions Club, and the Patrick County Cattleman’s Association. John will be remembered as a hardworking family man, a loving husband, devoted father, adoring grandfather, caring son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Left to cherish the memories of John Clark are his wife, Betty Lou Simmons Clark of the home; two sons, John Marlon Clark of Martinsville and Thomas Lee Clark (Diana Worthington Clark) of Stephens City; two grandsons, Justin Worthington Clark and Joshua Worthington Clark (fiancée, Sarah); two stepdaughters; numerous step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation for Mr. Clark will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Collins officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the New Hope Community Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Community Church Cemetery Fund, 1863 Clark House Farm Road, Stuart, VA 24171.
