Dear Kip and family, I wasn't aware that Jo had passed until I read the beautiful article in the "Extraordinary Life" section of the Courant. I had the pleasure of working with Jo while at St. Mary's Hospital from 1996-1999. She has always been an inspiration to me and others. I often refer to her and another colleague, Marcella, who like myself returned to college as adults. I use our stories to encourage others regarding education at any age. Jo was very special and I know she touched many people. God Bless.

I was so saddened at the loss of this very dear person. Mrs. T was so good to me when I moved to CT. She taught me many things that I will carry throughout my life. She was a true inspiration to me and she will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Dear Kip and family, I am saddened by Jo's leaving, but I know that her goodness touched many lives and inspired us all to try harder, to fight the good fight, and to be more than we expected to be. I was always amazed by her spirit, even in the dark hours. Who else would embrace life so fully, but one that understood how precious love and life really is? Her great struggle is over, but somehow I think she won the race in the end -- she captured a part of our hearts and still holds on tight to that which is good in each of us. She was a great example of what a good person truly is, and that reached so many of us on so many levels. May her legacy of love, hope, courage, compassion, and faith live on. She will be missed.
