William A.Borst age 79
September 20, 2022
Good grief. I was wondering around the Net and I discovered the obituary of my half cousin once removed. My father the late Dr Adam S.Borst, who was the younger brother of his grandfather whose name I never knew. They have the same father, my grandfather and namesake William A. Borst.
I last saw Bill 39 years ago at his Aunt Florence´s home in Greenwich. My son Matthew then five was with us. I met his girls, and remember his dark-eyed lovely wife. Sorry to also read of her demise as well.
I was talking about Bill and the fact that our strain of the Borst family now rests solely in the hands of my 25 year-old grandson Tyler S. Borst, the only son of my first born. His older sister just presented the world with my great-grandson Tucker Borst Vermillion. My prayers go with his daughters and sister whom I believe was there too. I doubt Matthew my youngest will ever have any kids. So be it!

Dear Borst family, Fire Department Brothers and Hebron friends and neighbors: Bill was a fine man, a great lawyer and a fine fireman. I enjoyed being under his watch as Fire Chief at Hebron Company 3. Bill was my family's attorney and I respect him a lot. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Borst was there not only as my best friends father but when I got into my car accident when I was 16. Knowing he was there made me feel better. A true hero.

Stefanie & Alyson, I am so very sorry to hear about your dad´s passing. I fondly remember cleaning your house when I was teen (listening to Madonna and Debbie Gibson on my Walkman while vacuuming)... and then later on working at Kalom & Borst during vacations and summertime when I was in college. Your father was the utmost professional in everything he did. Remember the fun memories!

My deepest condolences to the HVFD extended family. Chief Borst was a mentor, confidant, and constant source of encouragement to me during my time at Hebron Fire. His impact on my life and career was significant. We lost touch in the last 20 years, but he's deeply missed.
