Dan Weiner
February 4, 2010
Three days before leaving from Haifa, Israel for winter vacation in Miami, Florida I looked through the internet whether it is possible to meet once more my old friend Alex. I knew that he passed heart transplantation years ago and I hoped to meet him once again – but alas it was too late. I worked with Alex during the early seventies when I was employed as a project manager in the Israel Electric Corporation while planning and constructing the first 5 jet type gas turbines in our system. As a matter of fact this project was the first one to be planned and constructed by Israeli staff. This project was a great success due to Alex's help and involvement. Israel owes much to Alex. Alex was a brilliant engineer and a fascinating personality. He was a proud Jew and whenever I came to New York City I gave him a call a sometimes we ate lunch together and discussing for many hours. I’ll miss him very much and always remember him.
My deepest condolences to his family,
Dr. Dan Weiner, Haifa, Israel

Alex Hart was an extraordinary individual, extremely accomplished and gifted, he lived with the difficulties of having had a heart transplant over 18 years. He was extremely devoted to his wife, Ruth, the love of his life, and his children and son-in-law. He was a pious Jew, and never forgot his Creator, or his friends. He is and will continue to be very much much missed by all who loved him.
His Dear Friends,
Judy and Mort Zemel
