Logan Hardy "Pete" Durrum

1932 - 2015

DURRUM, Logan Hardy "Pete," age 83 of Cowan, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at the Willows of Winchester. Born on Feb. 29, 1932, in Wilder, Tenn. to the late Joe Hardy and Lillian Lee (Castleberry) Durrum, Pete later served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served the Franklin County area for almost 50 years as a plumber and electrician and was known as one of the best in his trade. Pete loved woodworking, fishing and was a fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Durrum; sisters, Betty Durrum, Joy Stephens, Alice Stephens, Peggy Horton and Rebecca Hunt; and a brother, Joe Durrum. He is survived by his sons, Doug (Melanie) Durrum of Manchester and Dennis Durrum of Cowan; daughter, Dawn Durrum Baker of Winchester; sisters, Sue Stults of Grimsley, Jane (John) Olsen of Crossville and Nancy Phillips of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) McDonald, Mary Catherine (Marshall) Anderson, Sarah (Corey) McGalliard and Barry (Carrie) Baker Jr.; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. A memorial service will follow in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wade Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee.
