Cheryl:
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.(Eccles. 3:1) We have lost a wonderful, caring spirit. Melvin was a special person who loved people, loved life and most importantly loved you. May God bless and keep you and your family.

Our deepest condolescences. May God continue to bless you and your family. The love that you two shared will be the afterlasting gift. Melvin had a good heart and his legacy lives on in many lives. Sidney and I can attest to that. God bless you.

Melvin was a great childhood friend. I remember when Melvin and I joined together to compete against my brother Charles and Ronald (Ronnie) Jackson in launching the first rocket on Noah St. Melvin and I, just like NASA, purchased a rocket through the mail and made it look like we built it from scratch. On the day of the launch, we had my brother and Ronnie witness the feat. As the countdown progressed to zero, my brother and Ronnie taunting in the background, Melvin and I accomplished the successful rocket launch on Noah St. Melvin I still remember the date, March 19, 1966. Thanks for pushing me in that "can do" attitude. That small launch in March 1966 has put me in my position today, as a Network Instructor in the Space Flight Training Division at the Johnson Space Center. Don't worry Mrs. Ruby, Doris, Doug and Del, God has dispatched him from this earth to a new assignment. Godspeed, Melvin.
