RICHARD EARL EGGLESTON, 38, passed away on January 1, 2006 at his home in Tomball after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 14, 1967 in Lufkin, Texas. Meredith,

I am very sorry for your loss. Take comfort that he is with Christ and the Saints, where we will someday be united. Your Dad and my late mother, Lucille, were first cousins. Is there anything I may do to help?

Meredith, Kathryn & Richard,

Our hearts and prayers go out to you at this sad time. We wish we had known that Rick had passed away because we would have attended his memorial service.

I tried sending a message to the other website while Rick was still with us but my computer needed some upgrades in order to do so. I wasn’t able to complete that process in time. There are many memories that I wanted to share with you that I’ll do now for Kathryn and Richard so that they can always know what a great person their father was. Rick put his entire heart and soul into everything that he did. My two older sons, Greg and Ryan, had the pleasure and privilege to have Rick as their JV basketball coach. He was far more than a coach. He was a teacher of life’s lessons. Both Greg and Ryan always said that “Coach Egg” was one of the two best coaches that they ever had. Ryan still says it and Greg said it until his passing two years ago. Our youngest son Reid played last night’s JV game in honor of Rick. Don’t ever doubt that there is a heaven and that Rick is there. Reid played a Jr High game the day before Greg was laid to rest and we knew that he would either have a truly great game or an extremely horrible one. He ended up playing the whole game and we know that Greg helped him get through it.

Our parish priest told us three things that helped us immensely in dealing with Greg’s death. Hopefully they can help you also. First, he told us that it is OK to be angry with God. It is a natural human feeling and let’s God know that HE is on your mind. Second, God is here for those that are left here on this world to help them. Rick doesn’t need HIS help, you do. Third, God did not have a plan to take Rick or Greg. It just happened. You will never get over losing Rick but GOD will always be there to help you cope.

We know that you have family and friends that are closer to you than us, but if you ever want to contact us don’t hesitate. We’ve found that it is of great benefit to talk to people who have gone through similar tragedies. Finally, don’t be afraid to talk about Rick. It may bring a few tears but it brings back many more soothing memories.

With all of our love and prayers,

Tim, Kathy, Ryan & Reid Wallace (and Greg from heaven with Rick)

Meredith, our hearts and prayers are with you. Rick spoke at our daughter Erin's funeral, and he had such an impact on both Elizabeth's and Erin's lives. His testimony for Christ was obvioius daily. We're sure that Erin was one of the first to welcome him into heaven. What joy they are both experiencing! May God bless both you and the children each day.

Our families thoughts and prayers are with you and your children. My son, Corey Reinbold, had Coach Eggleston for science at Willow Wood 2003-2004. He spoke of him so highly and had enormous respect for him.

The memorial service was very touching and very meaningful for my son. Thank you.

You and your family will always be in my prayers. God Bless !!
