Cecil "Pop" Wayne Wimberly, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, of Granbury, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Granbury, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M., on Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Wiley Funeral Home, 504 N. Holden St., in Glen Rose. Funeral services celebrating Cecil's life will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1400 N. Meadows Dr., in Granbury. He will be laid to rest at Squaw Creek Cemetery in Glen Rose.

Cecil was born in Hamilton County, Texas, to the late William "Buster" and Vada Wimberly. He graduated from Sam Houston State University and was involved in ranching and banking. He also enjoyed teaching/coaching and the insurance business. Cecil was loved by his family and was deeply devoted to his Christian Faith. He read his Bible daily. Cecil was a long-time member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder. Cecil was a hard worker and enjoyed outdoor activities including farming and tractors. Cecil was an avid golfer. He was involved in many community activities including fish frys and announcing High School Football games. Cecil and his wife June enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada in their 5th wheel trailer.

Cecil is survived by his wife June, of over 30 years; his children, Cindy and husband Bruce Knudson, Cathy Williams, Pam and husband Steve Siebenthall, and Barbara and husband Byron Howard; grandchildren, Nathan, Garrett, Jason, Colby, Travis, Ashley, Samantha, Nicole, Philip, Connie, and Katie; by 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild on the way! He is also survived by his sisters Norma, Ida Lee and Loyce.

In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his siblings, Jake, Cloyce, and Betty; and by his step-son, Johnny Baxter.
