I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Caplan as his office nurse for a few years when he was at the Medical Clinic of Houston. He was a doctor of healing and had tremendous religous faith. I witnessed that personally when I was invited to attend Sam's bris. He will be missed.

I am shocked to find out about Steve. We carpooled together, played in All City together, davened together at both UOS and Beth Yeshurun Chapel. He was a bright, caring, very funny person who truly loved his family and was proud of being Jewish. May his memory always be for a blessing and may G-d comfort you on his loss.

I was shocked and very sad to learn of Steve's passing. Steve was the first drummer in our junior high school rock and roll band. From time to time I would see him in the context of our subsequent life in the medical profession. I will always remember him as a very dear person, always smiling with a very positive outlook on life. Although I didn't know his children, I heard him speak of them with a great passion. His life was a great example to us all, and I will always remember him with fondness.

I knew Steve as a wonderful father to six beautiful children. I spent a lot of time in the Caplan house only with the best memories that I will hold dear to me forever. I want to extend my sincere condolences to the family. My prayers are with you all. Rachel, please know that I am here for you especially. I am having trouble getting your number and want to speak with you more than anything. I only hope this reaches you so that I can be there.
