May the powerful words recorded in the Bible at Matthew 5:4 encourage and strengthen your saddened heart.

Please accept my sympathy on the loss of Matt. He was a very smart and funny fellow whom I got to work with while at the Journal.

I had the privilege of getting to know Matt when I worked at the Idaho State Journal for three years. He reminded me a lot of my younger brother and we became friends when I offered to fix his ripped jeans. I think it shocked him that someone would offer to do something like that for him but he bravely brought his spare pair to work the next day and I fixed a patch on the seat and then the next day I fixed the other. It became an inside joke between us about his "holy jeans" but he would always smile when I would ask if he needed any sewing done. He taught me a lot about websites and such but he was also one of my first friends there. He was like a little brother and I am glad I had the opportunity to know him. I gave him rides home when the car was acting up, visited him when he was in the hospital and shared a love of superheros together. I know how much he missed his sister and I know they're reunited again. The world has lost another gentle soul but heaven has gained another angel. Rest in peace Matt. Till we meet again.
