In 1998, Dr. Weeks was inducted into the ATE-I Teacher Educator Hall of Fame at the 51st annual Turkey Run Teacher Educator Conference. This award was established to give recognition to teacher educators who have given a lifetime of dedicated service to teacher education in the state of Indiana.

Dear Dotty, I just heard about Tom. I am so sorry. You are such a wonderful person. You taught me so much while you were in my EC classroom. We always called you flypaper because when you entered the classroom the children would run to you...so excited you were going to play with them. You had that magical touch of taking all your knowledge and coming up with appropriate play. The kids loved you! ......and so did I. You made us all happy and we smiled all the time. I don't know if you remember but one summer I was having a garage sale and Tom stopped by. We had a chance to talk about you and my students. He was a wonderful kind man. I respected both of you. We need to do lunch, Dotty ❤My heart is with you. Love, Susan Surgoth

I had Mr. Weeks for both English and Social Studies during my years at Washington Township schools back in the '60s. In addition to being an excellent teacher, he was a NICE man. It was difficult for him to get angry with students when they acted up, but, when pushed, he could! He carried himself with dignity and authority. He was one of the best teachers I had growing up, and he was always nice and patient with me. I remember his excellent hand-writing on the chalk board. He's the only teacher I ever had who used a chalk holder...just another thing that made him unique. RIP Mr. Weeks.
