Joe and my Dad were the best of friends for over fifty years. He was a great friend and a even better engineer. My sister, God rest her soul, would be saying the same thing. Rest in peace, Joe.

Dr. Cynthia Biggs El sends heartfelt, consolatory condolences to Cecelia and the entire Tarsia family as we all mourn the loss of our beloved Joseph Tarsia, founder and dynamic engineering force behind Sigma Sound Recording Studios. Dexter Wansel and I spent countless hours in the state-of-the-art Studio A on 12th Street, and incalculable hours at the comparable Sigma Sound Studio South at 309 S. Broad Street during the 1970s and '80s recording some of our greatest joint songwriting achievements such as `If Only You Knew´ by Patti LaBelle, `Hurry Up This Way Again´ by The Stylistics, `Living All Alone´ by Phyllis Hyman and `Nights Over Egypt´ by the Jones Girls, to name a few. While Joe employed some of the best engineers from the tri-state area, to land a recording session with Joe as the engineer was an awe-inspiring experience. Joe had an innate predilection for sound that enabled him to merge the aural essence of multiple musical and vocal instruments into an overall symphonic, masterful mix.
Joe, you made marvelous musical history, and will always be remembered as one of the endowing pillars of The Sound of Philadelphia. May you rest in peace.

I only knew Joe (and Mike) through the audio business. I loved hearing the old (audio) war stories from Joe when I would run into him and Mike during the AES conventions.
Mike and I used to stay in touch being part of the same audio forums. I was sad to hear of his passing as well.
Both are legend´s in the audio world. May they both Rest In Peace.
I will smile every time I hear one of the Philly Sound songs, both did so much to shape our audio history. They will forever live on through their work.
Condolences to the whole family and all their loved ones.
