WILLIAM February 28, 2011, of Rox., age 80. Retired from Phila. Naval Shipyard Husband of the late Marie T. (nee Nonnis); father of Stephen W., Todd C. (Kathy) Barth and Carla F. André; grandfather of Collin and Connor Barth, Michael and Rachael André; brother of Joseph (Helen) Barth; best friend of Walter Schlosser. Relatives and friends are invited to Viewing Monday, from 9 A.M., followed by Funeral Service 11 A.M., at THE KOLLER FUNERAL HOME, 6835 Ridge Ave. (cor. of Livezey). Int. Westminster Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to American Lung Assoc., 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 403, Plymouth Meeting PA 19462.

I just recalled something about Bill that people would like to know. He was smart. Sometime in the late fifties or early sixties, Bill entered a nationwide contest about movies or literature. He won the contest.
The prize was a trip to the Rose Bowl and the Rose Bowl Parade.

I worked with Bill Barth for a number of years at the Naval Shipyard.He was smart, industrious and good to have around.

I have known Mr. Barth since I was 9 years old and became best friends with his daughter Carla. I remember he was always very funny and used to make us laugh a lot by saying wacky things. But I think he will be remembered most for being a classy, intelligent and refined gentleman. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends, especially his children, all of whom are my friends. I know he will continue to watch over them and always be there with them in spirit. My thoughts and prayers will be with you for a long time to come.
