Stephen L. Comer

Stephen L. (Steve) Comer, 60, of Lafayette, passed away from this life at 1:30am on November 4, 2011.

Steve was born June 4, 1951 to Gene and Virginia (Ginny) Comer in Chillicothe, OH. Steve graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1969 and attended Ohio University. In 1974 he left Chillicothe to pursue his career which allowed him to make many friends as he traveled throughout the United States. Steve enjoyed working as the Southwest Sales Manager for Aurora Parts and Service Network in Lebanon. He loved hunting, fishing, cruising, going to the casinos and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Marcia (Mull) Comer of Lafayette; their children Bryan (Anne) Hough of Lafayette, Christy (Chris) Mathis of Chillicothe, OH, Craig Comer, Brent (Robin) Comer, Step-daughter Christy (Steve) Fitch all of Georgetown, KY, Daughter-in-law Melanie Lybrook of Hebron, KY, grandchildren Austin and Connor Mathis, Morgan Comer and Paxton Comer. Also surviving are brother's Gene (Debbie) Comer and Mike (Judy) Comer both of Chillicothe, OH. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, special friends, co-workers and his beloved dog Shylo.

A celebration of life will be at his home on Sunday, November 20, 2011 from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorial contributions to be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the Almost Home Humane Society.

The family would like to say thank you to Steve's friends and co-workers for the many cards, thoughts and prayers during this time. In the words of Steve Comer, "It is what it is."

steve was a wonderful father in law and made me feel a part of the family from the 1st time i met him . i am grateful to have become his daughter in law and for the good qualities he instilled in my husband. also for teaching me to play left right center and poker ( even if he did win) we love you and miss you.
