Mary Bitgood Obituary
She was born in Montville on Oct. 24, 1930, daughter of the late Peter J. Milliard and Delina Milliard. She was the wife of the late Frederick H. Bitgood, who died Jan. 1, 2006. She had been employed by Gerber Scientific Instruments in South Windsor for most of her adult life.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara M. Petrone and husband, Frank, of Manchester; son, Thomas Bitgood of South Windsor; brother, James Milliard and wife, Ann, of Dayville; grandchildren, Jessica Bernier and husband, Kevin, Andrea Woodward, and Jennifer and Hannah Bitgood; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nathaniel, Kyle, Cora, and Jocelyn; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends and neighbors who were very supportive.
Mary's family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Hong and staff of the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital and also the VNA of Vernon for their excellent care.
Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
