I am a friend of Joan's from junior and senior year at Brown Deer High.
Moving from Arizona in the middle of high school was a tough experience; Mrs. Rasmussen (Iris)'s friendliness and invitations to come over to the house stand out as open doors to my adjustment.
I also loved her winter tans! No one could surpass the golden glows she wore upon returning from late winter business trips with husband Bill. I close my eyes and can see her gorgeous bright eyes and long lashes countering a newly dark complexion, and I remember dimples, too!
I also remember the energy and vitality in her as she moved around the room, chatting with Joan and me about the latest high school news.
I want to express my deepest sympathy to Joan, her sisters, and their families. God bless you all.
