I have many fond memories of Dick, from visiting with him in the hall way outside our classrooms, to The Flying Linguinis at the Teacher's Night of Talent. He was such an inspiration to his fellow teachers and most of all, to his students. He will be missed on this earth.

Mr Macinnis was my inspiration to become a history teacher. He instilled my love of it through his teaching style. He made the stories real to me and I could see what he was explaining in my mind. To him I give all the credit to my success in college and in my teaching career. I affectionately referred to him as the "Godfather" because of his voice. That thought brings a smile to face as I write this. I had to honor of spending a few months in Scotland with him and his wonderful wife Pat. They were wonderful chaperones for me and my classmates as we traveled together. He truly was a treasure for Richmond High School students and will be dearly missed. God Bless You!

I was so saddened to hear of Mr. MacInnis' passing. What an amazing man. So many stories come to mind. His lemon drop stash in Western Civ, mock trials, and more. But getting to spend a month abroad with Big Mac at the helm...what a privilege! Thanks for teaching me so much about history, but also about life. Prayers for you and your family, Mrs MacInnis. Much love.

So very sorry for your family's loss. I know he will be greatly missed. I always enjoyed history throughout my school days but he seemed to add a special touch to his classes that made me love history even more. I can still hear him saying, the first day of class, "everything you will need to know to pass this class will be written on the blackboard. I suggest you write it down" I did. I passed. Thank you, Mr. Mac, for instilling in me the love of history. You made a difference in so many young peoples lives and will be missed.

As I drove by their house a few days ago, I thought of how special you were to my daughter while she was your student in high school. You gained their respect while you held them to a standard. Thanks to Mr. MacInnis for what he has built into more generations. May God comfort his family.

I'm so sorry to hear Mr MacInnis has passed away. He was truly one of my favorite teachers in high school, and I developed a love of history thanks to him. I signed up for a second class with him just so I could have another semester with him. He is beloved by many of us and will truly be missed. My condolences to his family and many friends. Farewell, Mr. MacInnis...thank you for service to our country and for being a wonderful teacher and role model.
