Ronald Greaves Obituary

Greaves, Ronald Bertram
November 28, 1943 - September 27, 2012
R.B. Greaves passed in Granada Hills, CA following his brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his adoring children Tracy Jane Richards and Sonia Marie, Jason Christopher, Rachel Cheyenne and Shiloh Parker Greaves, and his grandchildren. R.B. Greaves was a singer and composer who received a gold record and a Grammy nomination for "Take a Letter Maria" which was released in 1969. His beautiful soulful voice will be eternally missed and remembered. Now he sings with seven spanish angels. We love you, Dad. Sing in peace.

He was a wonderful father, singer and always a southern gentelman. He will be missed dearly and my sympathy goes out to all of his children and family.

My late husband Dick (Dick and Dee Dee) and I were the closet of friends with R. B. for many years. I was there when he wrote "Take A Letter Maria" and kind of inspired it. I was also the Maid of Honor at one of his weddings. I have a million wonderful memories of him, Claire, Sandy and Maura and our trips to our cabin in Crestline. He was a character and a great friend and talent. My thoughts go out to his family. Sandy St.John
