Robert Heymann Obituary

August 31, 1973 - February 17, 2022 Dr. Robert Heymann, age 48, died after a sudden illness on February 17, 2022. Rob was born in Long Beach, CA, to Roger and Ellen Heymann. He graduated in 1991 from the PACE Program at Long Beach Polytechnic High School where he was Valedictorian. He went on to earn a B.S., magna cum laude, in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside in 1995; and his M.D. from University of California, Irvine in 1999. He then trained in Internal Medicine with a residency at UCLA, followed by an Endocrinology fellowship at the VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System. He joined Kaiser-Permanente in 2004 practicing at the Fontana Medical Center. Rob married Lisa Bowen in Long Beach, CA, in 2006 and together they had two sons, Noah and Jacob. Rob loved the outdoors, especially sailing, hiking, and camping. He was a talented woodworker who loved making gifts for family and friends. He loved spending time with his family, and they took many vacations to national parks around the country. Rob spent his life helping others. As a physician, he was committed and caring to his patients. He also served his community. He guided his boys as the leader of Cub Scout Pack #655 and was an active member of his synagogue, Temple Beth Israel. He brought laughter and joy to every room and had an encyclopedic knowledge of medicine and trivia. Rob is survived by his wife Lisa and their sons, Noah and Jacob, all of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; and by his parents, Roger and Ellen Heymann of Pomona, CA. The family requests that donations in memory of Rob be made to Temple Beth Israel in Pomona, CA.

We still miss Dr. Robert Heymann--I assume that the laws of karma for those who believe in rebirth, he has probably been reborn to a good home. Just wanted to request his family if they would like to adopt some kittens that were born at my home to a persian white cat---there are 3 cute white and blue eyed kittens and one chocolate brown blue eyed kitten. These animals are adorable---may bring you some peace and solace. Please call me if you would like to keep these animals. Preemptively, I've kept all 4 kittens. (314)359-4691

I went to high school with him and tutored him in Physics when he took the class. He was always very diligent and focused. He had made an incredible project at physics bowl. In addition, he was just an overall good guy. We became Facebook friends and I was happy to reconnect after all these years. I am very sorry to hear of his loss. He´s one of the good ones. Just a terrible loss. My sincere condolences to his family.

Robert was my physician and colleague. I am extremely saddened of his passing . Just finding out of his death. He was an astute diagnostician, with an eye for detail. He is greatly missed. RIP Robert.

I want to give my condolences to the family.. I had not gone to see my endocrinologist Dr. Heymann in a while and last spoke to him in 2021.. today i was shocked to find out of his passing. So sorry for your loss.

I want to first express my sincere condolences to Dr. Heymann's wife and sons. I am shocked and saddened to learn today of his sudden passing earlier this year. Dr. Heymann was my endocrinologist since 2012 and I felt fortunate to been under his care for those years. Rest in Peace Dr. Heymann.

I just wanted to thank him for all that he has done for me. He was with me through the hardest time in my life and helped me make out the other side. Honestly the most gentle, kind and caring doctor I have ever had. I'm so sorry for your loss. He will be deeply missed by all his patients, I'm sure of that.

I am sad to hear about Robert´s unexpected and premature passing. I knew him from high school, UC Riverside (UCLA/UCR Biomed Program), and residency training. He was a fine person and physician with a wry sense of humor. He´ll be missed. Condolences to his family.

Dr. Robert Heymann was among the brightest Poly High School students whom I first met as a microscope partner in Mr. Daniel Sourbeer's biology class. I remember he was awarded multiple prestigious "Pursuit of Excellence" medallions. He became friends with me and my older brother Anand Pandya, who was later his roommate at UC Riverside. I moved on with the UCR/UCLA Biomed Program and became a family medicine physician. Robert Heymann pursued medical school at UC Irvine, with specialization studies in Internal Medicine/Endocrinology and Anand Pandya at St. George's University with specialization studies in Anesthesiology/Pain Management. We all had humble beginnings in Long Beach, CA, volunteering at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center with our research mentor in hematology/oncology Dr. Robert Nagourney.
I was informed by a Facebook friend that Robert Heymann had suddenly died 2/17/22. We were shocked by the loss of his youthful life---he was a very good human being and we are thankful to have shared many years from high school to university with Robert Heymann. I also had the opportunity to meet his mom Ellen at Long Beach Memorial, and his father Sigmar at UC Riverside.
Wishing heartfelt condolences to Dr. Robert Heymann's family---may peace and solidarity be with you. He will be missed by many who respected him. God bless.
