Major Bryan K. Lowry, U.S. Air Force Veteran, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle passed away on September 12, 2022 at the age of 62.

Bryan was born on July 19, 1960 in Trenton, Michigan to parents John and Joyce Lowry. He was the fourth of six children. In 1978, Bryan graduated from Brighton High School where he umpired baseball games. After graduation, Bryan was admitted to the United States Air Force Academy. For one summer there, Bryan managed the Air Force Academy's planetarium. In 1983, Bryan earned a B.S. in Science and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force.

Bryan served the country for twenty years. While serving, he earned a M.A. in Education from Montana State University. Bryan's career took him to Malmstrom Air Force Base, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base, and Schriever Air Force Base. One of the satellites Bryan worked on is now in the Smithsonian's Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center. He retired from the Air Force in 2003 after his last station with U.S. Space Command. After that, Bryan worked for almost ten years as a military contractor for Sigmatech.

Bryan met his future wife Evelyn Lietz while he was a student at the Air Force Academy. They were married in 1984. Bryan and Evelyn welcomed their daughter Ashley in 1989 and their granddaughter Adeline in 2020. The couple lived together in Security, Colorado during Bryan's retirement.

Bryan enjoyed classic Ford muscle cars. He was fascinated by space and science. He enjoyed learning about history of all kinds but especially enjoyed Civil War and military history. He loved classic rock and was a passionate Beatles fan. Bryan was also a committed fan of the Detroit professional sports teams and Air Force Falcons Football.

He is preceded in death by his sister Stephanie Trudell.

He is survived by his parents John and Joyce Lowry, wife Evelyn Lowry, daughter Ashley Gates, granddaughter Adeline Gates, brothers Jeff and Greg Lowry, sisters Karen Summar and Kate Price, niece Jessica McQuaid, and cat Ottis.

Bryan's celebration of life will take place at Evergreen Funeral Home on Monday, September 26, 2022. The viewing will take place at 9:30am and the service at 10:30am. He will be laid to rest at noon with military honors at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
