Charles Duzzie Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 17, 2023.
Charles "Chuck" Perry Duzzie, 69, of Boca Raton, Florida died suddenly on June 6, 2023 while traveling in Greece. It was unexpected and his family and friends are shocked and deeply saddened.

He was born on April 25th, 1954 to Albert & Mary Duzzie in Warren, Michigan. He attended Grosse Pointe North High School in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan and was passionate about traveling and playing the guitar. After graduating high school, Chuck moved to East Lansing, Michigan where he briefly attended Michigan State University.

Chuck worked as a Master Electrical Journeyman for over 40 years and was a member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 58 Chapter of Detroit, Michigan until he retired.

He was a kind and generous friend. He was an independent, adventuresome traveler, devoting his recent years to traveling Europe. He loved Ballroom and Latin dancing and leaves behind a large community of adoring friends who will miss him dearly. He enjoyed cooking, music, photography and was an avid Windsurfer for over 25 years.

Chuck was predeceased by his father, Albert Duzzie, and mother, Mary Duzzie. He is survived by his son, Albert Duzzie II, daughter, Bridget (Justin) Russell, brother, Richard (Claudia) Duzzie, and his sister Rita (Robert "Bee") Ellis.

I was Chuck’s landlord when he first came from Michigan to Florida. It started off as a landlord-tenant relationship, but it wasn’t long that we became friends. He was such a sweet, giving, person.
I think he chose his apartment, because it was in close proximity to Gold Coast ballroom. He would go there often, and because of his warm and outgoing personality, it didn’t take him long to become friends with the dancers there.
I just want to say that I am heartbroken. He was one of the most sweetest, sensitive, caring, people that I have ever met.
Chuck, I know , when we meet again, you can tell me all about your adventures in Europe . Till then, enjoy dancing with the angels.

Chuck was a good guy and did indeed love ballroom dancing at Gold Coast ballroom with the rest of us. I'm very glad he got to go to Europe and enjoy things there before he passed.

Dear Chuck,
We talked so many times about your love of travel and your dream of living on the Mediterranean. Not many of us are able to live our dreams. I'm so glad you did. Wish it had lasted longer. I will always love you.

Your sister, Rita

Chuck was a sweet man who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I enjoyed dancing and talking with him. He was very sweet to my mother, 98 years old, and always asked her to dance when she was with us in the ballroom. Chuck will truly be missed!
