David L. Mueller

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband, stepfather, Pop, uncle and friend, David L. Mueller. David was born in 1950 in Columbus, Ohio, and he left us much too soon on July 5, 2024, at the age of 73 in Encinitas, CA, after a harrowing journey with Lewy Body dementia.

Dave was a faithful friend known for his wry sense of humor. Always filled with immense joy, wisdom and love; he cherished every moment spent with his family and close friends. He loved baseball games, live music, good restaurants, golf, horse racing and tennis and aspired to watch every Oscar nominated movie each year.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of Carlsbad, CA; stepdaughter Kelly (Taylor) Mason and their daughters Lia, Harper and Sloane of Carlsbad, CA; stepson Adam (Alyssa) Jarvis and their children Olive and Cade of Centennial, CO; and his niece, Elizabeth Price (Ryan Alessi) of Harrisonburg, VA.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Mueller, and his sister, Donna Price.

Dave will be dearly missed by family and friends. He married JoAnn, the love of his life, in 2002 and relished becoming a stepdad at the same time to Adam and Kelly. His family was his pride and joy and his greatest role in his life was being "Pop" to his grandchildren. He never turned down a chance to have a princess tea party, build a snowman, play games, or snuggle up and read a book or watch a movie.

He graduated from Copley High School in Akron, Ohio, in 1968 and earned his BSBA and MBA from Miami University of Ohio. He began working as a Certified Public Accountant for the prestigious accounting firm Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) in 1976 and was transferred to the Denver office in 1981. It was through his career that he befriended his closest friends and met JoAnn. As a group, they loved to travel and were fortunate to take many wonderful trips together.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 3-6 PM at Brooklyn's, 2644 W Colfax, Denver, CO. Free parking for David's celebration of life can be found in the parking lot directly across the street. Please note your license plate and scan the QR code on the inside of the front door of Brooklyn's (NOT the one in the parking lot) to register your vehicle upon arrival.
