Kelly Ann Ellis (Jenkins), 64, of Sarasota, FL, has passed away after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer.

She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and grew up outside of Chicago. She moved with her family to Sarasota in 1977. She attended Sarasota High School, class of 1979.

Her greatest joys were watching her sons succeed in all their sports from youth through college. As the mother of three boys, she was a true "ballpark mom". She loved her slot machines at the Hard Rock, never missing an opportunity to try her luck. She loved the game of darts which had her competing in leagues for many years with her Husband, Cal. She loved her boat days with the family and spending time on the sandbars around Sarasota Bay. She was an avid fan of the FSU Seminoles, Tampa Bay Rays, Lightning, and her cooking shows. She also enjoyed watching the various singing competitions.

Kelly was best known for taking care of her three boys. She had a huge heart and would always put others first. She touched the lives of many and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and JoAnn Jenkins, and her husband, Calvin "Cal" Ellis.

Kelly is survived by her three sons: Ryan (Jade), Rob (Amanda) and Chad (Lindsay). Sister/Brother-in-laws: Karen (Doug) Mann, Kris Taylor and Kyle Jenkins. Mother-in-law Carol Ellis and brother-in-law Mark "Gus" (Lisa) Ellis. Grandchildren: Mackenzie, Madison, Cameron, Braxton, Kyla, Cove, Hannah, and Gabe. Along with many loving nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1-4 pm at the Sarasota Outboard Club (1604 Ken Thompson Pkwy., Sarasota 34236).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute or a cancer foundation of your choice.
