Linda "Dee Dee" Loredo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 22, 2024.
Linda "Dee Dee" Marie (Hester) Loredo went home to be with her Savior on December 17, 2024. She was born to Lorne G. Hester and Lorraine C. (Garrett) Hester January 7, 1949 in Hollister, California. She was preceded in death by her father Lorne, mother Lorraine, sister Laurel Lee "Laurie" Newberry (Newell), and her son Jesse Loredo Jr. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Jesse, her daughter Daphne Vincent (Eric), grandchildren Elyse Vincent, Emily Moga (Cristian), great-grandson Ronan Moga, daughter-in-law Margie Loredo, sister Robin Wade, step-siblings Betty Bolling, Bill Hester, Barbie Clobes, and sister-in-law Mary "Auntie Toni" (Loredo) Proctor. She is also survived by many other cousins, nieces, and nephews who she loved.

Dee Dee and Jesse were high school sweethearts and attended Irvington High School in Fremont, California. They were married March 18,1966 and welcomed Daphne, then Jesse Jr. into their family. They both committed their lives to Jesus in 1971 which started a lifelong journey of them loving and serving Him, and helping others.

Dee Dee was a stay-at-home mom until Daphne and Jesse started school. She could whip up delicious meals on pennies. She sewed the family's clothes, did crafts, and created many fun family traditions. She loved the ocean and the mountains.

In 1974 the Loredo family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Soon after that, with Jesse's encouragement, Dee Dee went to college to get her Bachelor's Degree to become a science teacher. She taught junior high then high school science for over 30 years, most of which were spent at Northwest Christian School in Phoenix where she was better known as Mrs. Loredo. She later went on to get her Master's Degree and was awarded several scholarships to participate in prestigious continuing educational opportunities throughout the U.S. Generations of students learned to love science because of her intentional, inspiring teaching methods. She loved teaching, but she loved her students even more!

In addition to teaching, Dee Dee supported Jesse's ministry to the community in many different ways, from crocheting puppets for children's church, to creating PowerPoint slides for Spanish worship services, to helping teach English to immigrants.

Dee Dee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and mentor to many. She will be deeply missed! Because our hope is in Jesus, we look forward to joining her again someday with him in our Father's House.

A Celebration of Life for Dee Dee will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 3 pm at Trinity Mennonite Church in Glendale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to Benevilla www.benevilla.org,

I met Mr. and Mrs. Loredo when I was about 9 years old through their daughter, Daphne, who was my schoolmate. Between then and my early teens, I was fortunate to spend time in their home, surrounded by their family´s love and faith. Coming from a chaotic and unstable home life, the Loredos offered me a sanctuary-safety, structure, and kindness that I deeply cherished.

Mrs. Loredo was a wonderful role model, not only to her children but to all who knew her. She carried herself with grace and left a lasting impression on everyone she touched, including my cousin, who had the privilege of being her student and described her as one of the best teachers ever.

My favorite memory of Mrs. Loredo was the way she made scrambled eggs. She had a special touch, melting butter over them just after they were cooked. It´s a little detail that has stayed with me through the years-so much so that I´ve shared her "secret recipe" with friends around the world. Those eggs were a simple reflection of the care and warmth she showed in every aspect of her life.

Mrs. Loredo´s love and guidance reached far beyond her family. She made a difference in so many lives, including mine. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and nurturing will live on in our hearts and memories.

To the Loredo family: May the blessing of her remarkable life comfort you during this difficult time. Thank you, Mrs. Loredo, for everything you gave to the world.

When I think of Mrs. Loredo, I picture her warm smile and feel the love, care, and kindness she shared with us. Her class was always something to look forward to-a place where we could have fun and discover something new. She truly was a bright light in the lives of so many.

Mrs. Loredo was my science Biology teacher and also my cheer coach. She was so full of joy and love and impactful in my walk with Jesus and love for people! Prayers and hugs for the entire family

She was my favorite teacher in high school. Her love for us, enthusiasm about science, and tea hing methods ensured we leaned well in an environment of safety. She helped pave the paths of success for so many students! The world is truly a better place because of Dee Dee (Mrs. Loredo).

Dee Dee and Jesse were such good friends and encouragers to Bill and I. We met in the 80s, as fairly new Christians they came along side us and encouraged and discipled. Sadly, we lost touch over the years. My condolences to Jesse, and family.
