Sandi Ruddy of Black Diamond passed suddenly after a series of health issues over the past few years. She is predeceased by her father Stanley Walter Gouldie and her brother Reginald Earle Gouldie. She is survived by her husband William Joseph Ruddy of 44 years, her children Mark Stanley Ruddy, Jillian Suzanne Ruddy and Michael William Ruddy. She is the beloved Nana of Finley James Ruddy, Shepperd William Ruddy and Paisley Norma Ruddy. She is also survived by her mother H. Norma Gouldie Keller and her sister Marlene Penny Gouldie as well as numerous extended family reaching the UK, Spain and Australia. She was also blessed by a large circle of friends. Sandi was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. People knew her to be compassionate, generous and supportive with an unconditional love for animals. She had a lot of passions in life including cooking, canning, gardening and entertaining. Sandi was also an outstanding citizen and very dedicated to community endeavours such as sitting on the Boards of Heritage Council (City of Calgary) and Okotoks Arts Council. Within the educational realm, Sandi held her permanent Teaching Certificate (Alberta) and played a role in developing the Adult Literacy Program (Calgary Board of Education). In the field of psychology, Sandi qualified as a Certified Arbitrator, Court Appointed Family Assessor, Court Appointed Amicus Curiae and an Expert Witness - Queen's Bench, Family and Provincial Courts: Alberta, NWT and BC. A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 20 Banister Gate in Okotoks, Alberta on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Snodgrass Funeral Home in Okotoks, Alberta can be contacted for more information.
