Sharon Joy Baer

Sharon Joy Baer, nee Wissinger, 57 of Bothell, WA, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 5th, after a valiant battle with breast cancer.

Sharon was born in Glenridge, New Jersey on August 24, 1965, the eldest of four children born to Robert Wissinger, Jr. and Joan Wissinger. She graduated from Issaquah High School in 1983. She received a BA in Education from Central Washington University in 1987 and a master's degree in Education from Chapman University. Sharon was the first in her family to earn a master's degree. She was a long-time employee at Boeing in Customer Engineering. Sharon married Glenn Baer on February 14, 1998. Sharon and Glenn have two sons: Kyle, a Lieutenant in the Air Force, and Jason, a Marine Corporal.

She was a woman who endeavored to make those around her feel at ease. She enjoyed hosting gatherings at her home, showing off her superior baking skills. Her decorations at Christmas were a sight to behold. Sharon loved crafting: sewing, quilting and crocheting items she gifted to those she loved. Travel was high on Sharon's list of priorities. She was partial to cruises, traveling to Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico, the Baltic Sea and the United Kingdom, to name a few destinations. One of Sharon's favorite shore excursions was to a whiskey distillery in Ireland.

Sharon loved her family fiercely. Her face beamed with pride when talking about her boys and their accomplishments. Her love for family and friends was unconditional. She will always be remembered as a kind soul with a beautiful smile, happily helping others. Sharon is survived by her husband, Glenn; sons, Kyle and Jason; mother, Joan Wissinger; Siblings, Debbie (Phil) Cottrell, Darlene (Evan) Wang, Robert (Thao) Wissinger, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Wissinger, Jr.
