Sylvia Irene Simaan-Botello

I worked with Sylvia for many years at Capital Metro. In my first few weeks on the job, Sylvia was the first to reach out and welcome me into the organization. She showed kindness, asking me about myself and my family, and she made me feel welcome everyday when I arrived for work. Sylvia and I would talk at lunch and she loved to hear stories about my family and she also loved to tell stories about her daughter whom she was very proud of. I have a very fond memory of one day, outside of work, when my wife and I were running errands and we ran into Sylvia at a store. Even though Sylvia had never met my wife, she remembered all of the details from our conversations at work and she brought them up to my wife, giving her the sweetest compliments. My wife blushed with surprise, and I was proud to call Sylvia my friend. Sylvia, you will be missed dearly. You were a shining light in the world.
