Christopher Defeciani Obituary

Defeciani, Christopher Edward

Christopher Edward DeFeciani

4/14/66 - 1/16/14

of Erie, CO, formerly of Montgomery, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 16th, at the age of 47. Chris was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, cousin and friend. He was known for his compassion, loyalty, and warmth. He was a graduate of St. Peter's School, North Rockland High School, and Pace University, where he earned his BBA in Management Information Systems. He was a passionate past member of the Haverstraw Ambulance corps, during which time he helped to save numerous lives. He was employed as Senior Director of Production at Sandoz, Inc. Previously he was a loyal employee at Pfizer (formerly Wyeth) for 25 years. As a father and husband, he was always supportive and nurturing. He took great pride in his ability to provide for his family and tend to their needs and desires. Chris was passionate about cooking, photography, music, taking long rides on his motorcycle, and riding the trails on his quad. He found joy in sitting outside by a bonfire, taking his dogs Charlie and Grace for long walks and spending time with his family and friends. In the Immortal words of Steve Martin, Chris truly was one "Wild and Crazy Guy".

He is survived by his parents Joan (Barry) and Anthony DeFeciani, his wife Susan (nee, Eschenbacher) and his four children, Joshua Weintraub, Zachary, Lena and Sean DeFeciani, his sisters Carol DeFeciani, Tracy DeFeciani (Marco Prisco), Lisa DeFeciani (Jordan Barile) and brothers Anthony DeFeciani (Kelly Longo), and Patrick DeFeciani (Linda Senatore), his aunt, Elizabeth Bates, numerous cousins, sisters-in-law Caren Anderson and Diane (Robert) Bryan, and brother-in-law Thomas Eschenbacher and his many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Viewing on Friday, January 24th at George M. Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main St, Haverstraw, NY from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christain Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Peter's Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to the American Heart Association and the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation.

Chris was the kindest, hardest working person. He was a good and supportive coworker, always there to lend a hand or ear. I remember how his office had so many pictures of his family, I hope they find comfort in this difficult time. I have nothing but fond memories of Chris.

Wow, I sit here dumbfounded, really at a loss for words- a rare thing for me, very rare. Sorry seems so thin, tragic doesn't quite grasp it, shocked and saddened don't come close to summing it up. I understand loss, not of this nature, but times of great pain and grief. I pray you grieve well; remember with great fondness the good as well as the bad times; are thankful for the precious moments spent together; see him in the lives he has touched and the children he has loved as well as in you for all that he has poured out into you with his life and love, caring and devotion. Allow the feelings to flow, never holding back the pain you may feel; holding them in and being "strong" only leads to inner turmoil. Be there for the family but allow them to be there for you as you mourn the loss and celebrate the life...

You all have my deepest sympathies and condolences. Words can express the sadness and the loss you all must feel at the time. Chris was a great person, and a great friend to all who knew him.

You are are all in my prayers.

My heartfelt condolences to the entire DeFeciani Family. I never knew Chris as a husband and father, but I can attest to his character as a son and brother. The DeFeciani Family were our next door neighbors. I cannot think of a finer family. I remember Chris as a child and those memories make me smile. I can still see him splashing in the pool or playing kick the can with us. He was especially respectful to my Mom, Mary, after my father died. I know there are no words of consolation, so I offer none. The best I can do is offer my wishes for strength for the entire family. I wish I could be there with you on Friday and Saturday as you say your good-byes. He had an amazing soul. He will be missed. Love and Best Wishes.
